Charlotte Regional Alliance for Transportation

The Charlotte Regional Alliance for Transportation or CRAFT is a working group of the region’s metropolitan and rural planning organizations.  CRAFT was initiated in 1999 to support the agencies responsible for carrying out the transportation planning process so that the right operational outcomes can be realized – resulting in a safe, efficient and reliable transportation network serving the greater Charlotte region.  With this in mind, CRAFT members jointly support a regional travel demand modeling process, coordinate on projects of regional significance, support regional planning studies / initiatives, and maintain an active working partnership with adjacent planning agencies.

CRAFT members include the Rock Hill – Fort Mill Area Transportation Study (RFATS), the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO), the Gaston-Cleveland-Lincoln MPO, the Cabarrus-Rowan MPO, the Rocky River Rural Planning Organization (RRRPO), and the Catawba Regional Council of Government (CRCOG).  If you have any questions about CRAFT or any other planning activities, please call staff at (803) 326-2460 or submit a comment via this website.
